# People School Affiliate Program Kit

Prepared July 14, 2026 from the Gmail thread “Refer & Earn,” the live Circle program pages, the current People School offer, and current FTC affiliate-disclosure guidance.

## Approved program decisions

These are the approved operating rules for the Program Terms effective July 14, 2026.

1. **Commission:** 20% of net collected revenue from the referred customer’s initial People School enrollment. Taxes, refunds, chargebacks, discounts funded by Science of People, later renewals, People School Plus renewals, upgrades, and unrelated products are excluded unless Science of People approves an exception in writing.
2. **Payment plans:** A potential commission is considered only as each installment successfully clears. It is not calculated or released on the full contract value in advance.
3. **Attribution:** 30-day last-eligible-affiliate-click window. Customers in an individualized, documented Science of People sales conversation during the preceding 90 days, self-referrals, and retroactive claims are not eligible. Newsletter subscribers, webinar attendees, ordinary CRM records, automated marketing, and general form submissions do not by themselves count as an active sales conversation.
4. **Validation and payouts:** Hold commissions for at least 30 days. Science of People has sole and absolute discretion over eligibility, attribution, approval, holds, reversals, payment timing, payment method, and payment amount. Program determinations are final with no internal appeal or alternate payout process. The ordinary operating cycle is monthly with a $50 minimum, but neither a dashboard balance nor a pending commission creates a payment obligation.
5. **Paid ads:** Allowed only after written approval of the campaign, copy, creative, landing page, targeting, budget, and run dates. Approval is campaign-specific.
6. **Brand bidding:** Prohibited. Affiliates may not bid on People School, Science of People, Vanessa Van Edwards, product names, domains, misspellings, or confusingly similar terms, and may not use those terms in paid-search display URLs or ad-account names.
7. **Organic promotion:** Allowed on owned channels and to opted-in audiences, with a clear commission disclosure attached to every endorsement.
8. **Creative use:** Only approved, unmodified assets. No Vanessa Van Edwards photography unless Science of People gives written approval for a specific asset and use.
9. **Program name:** Use **People School Partner Program** publicly. “Affiliate” remains in the legal and disclosure language so the financial relationship is unmistakable.
10. **Eligibility and legal posture:** Participation is available worldwide where Science of People can lawfully operate and make payouts. The final Program Terms incorporate the company’s existing Oregon governing-law, AAA arbitration, class-action waiver, one-year claim period, and $100 aggregate liability framework.

## Why these decisions

- The current Circle page promises 20% but does not define what revenue counts, how referrals are attributed, or when commissions are paid.
- The existing ethical guidelines correctly require truthful promotion, approval for paid advertising, opt-in email audiences, and commission disclosure, but they leave the paid-ad and brand-keyword decisions unresolved.
- A no-brand-bidding rule prevents partners from intercepting demand Science of People already created and keeps the paid-search auction from becoming more expensive.
- A 30-day window fits a considered course purchase without creating an indefinite attribution obligation.
- The FTC expects material connections to be disclosed clearly, conspicuously, and close to the endorsement. “Affiliate link” by itself may not tell consumers that the endorser earns money.

## Publication status

**Marketing/claims:** Ready after inserting final links and approved graphics. The copy avoids guaranteed promotion, salary, health, or life-change outcomes; it uses scene-and-capability language instead.

**Program Terms:** Final business-approved version effective July 14, 2026. Publish with affirmative electronic acceptance and retain the accepted version and timestamp. Legal counsel may still review enforceability; the document contains no unresolved placeholders or policy decisions.
